Day 2

Today I am grateful for our weather. It is winter here now, and it gets dark so early. The mornings are freezing, but day time can be so beautiful, not too warm and oh-so-sunny 🌻🌞🌵

I feel so lucky to live in a place where even in winter, we can go to the beach and soak up that glorious Vitamin D.

I am also thankful for cacti. Seeing as we have riduculous black thumbs, cactus are going to be our saving grace greenery.

Summer!

I've been seeing all these photos of snow everywhere courtesy of Facebook and Instagram. Can I say I'm kind of jealous at the moment? I always loved summer, the consistency of long, hot, sunny days just made me happy. But as I get older it starts to wear a bit thin when it's ridiculously hot.  According to the news, our summer hasn't been too hot (although it feels like it has been), and we've had a few milder days and colder nights in the last week or so which was awesome. We have had 15 days over 35 celcius (95F), in January, and I know there were a few in December and November too. But today is another one, and according to forecasts we are set for a record breaking heat wave over the next week. It's supposed to get up to 42c (110F), and not go below 39 celcius (103), for at least the next week possibly longer. Time To Say Goodbye

Hey Folks out there in internet land. This year is heading towards a close and it's got me thinking about what I had hoped to achieve this year and what I haven't gotten done.... In the last few years we've been thrown some pretty major shit and each year end I say "good riddance to this  year and here's to next year being better!" And the next year isn't better so it's getting kind of old.  Since 2012 (so five years), we've dealt with 3 miscarriages, an extremely difficult pregnancy that apparently should have resulted in two babies but didn't, a busted back, an ectopic pregnancy that nearly cost me my life and did cost my fertility. That was followed by pneumonia then a Femoral hernia. In addition to that, we've had to deal with me losing the ability to use my right leg and foot for over a year, more damage to my back, more hospital visits than I can count and stress beyond all belief. 2013, A Look Back

Today is a stay at home do nothing kind of day - I don't even plan on getting out of my pj's. And so as I sit here and reflect on the past year it occurs to me that it has been pretty full on! So I thought I'd do a post on what happened, month by month. So much can change in 12 months, it's interesting to look back and remember things.....I wonder what 2014 will bring? January ...saw as it always does, Miss Emily's birthday and mine as well as a big cross country move! On the way Penelope gave us quite the scare before we knew she was Penelope that is, and proved to us that she really is destined to be a superhero!   My Dad and The Awesome One packing our shipping container for the move Driving across the Nullarbor Plain on the way to Western Australia February came and we found out that our Little Lord Nibbler was actually going to be Little Lady Nibbler!
