Countdown To The End of School

We are definitely on the end of school year countdown now!
I don't know about you, but by the time November rolls around I am just so over making school lunches, being a taxi for the school run, doing the drop offs and pick ups for all the after school stuff, homework.....notes and money for excursions and stuff that comes up at school.....I just cannot wait for the school year to finish!

I always get so tired by this time of year, and it always seems to be so busy as well, that the exhaustion levels just intensify. I cannot wait for not having to get up and be busy immediately each morning. I know by the end of the summer holidays I will be saying I can't wait for school to start, but for right now I am hanging out for lazy summer days big time!

I am almost completely done with Christmas shopping and preparation and so this weekend I took the opportunity to wrap presents. The kidlets were all out so I set to work wrapping and put presents under the tree. Of course there will still be presents from Santa, but it really looks quite festive in our house right now!

It looks like there is a lot under the tree, but it's actually only 4 presents each. It's just that this year most of the presents are in bigger boxes and there are 5 of them! They are so giddy about Christmas that I feel a little mean putting the presents out. But only a little! We had run out of places to hide them so we actually needed to put them out anyway!

I love Christmas so much. It's just so magical! And no, I'm not talking just about the materialistic side of it. I'm not a fan of the commercialism of Christmas and I will steer clear of the main shopping centre as much as humanly possible. But the kids just love it so much and I love seeing it through their eyes. I really hope that one day I'll be able to show them what a white Christmas looks like. (Seeing Christmas lights in the snow is something very special, even when you've only seen it once like me!).  Stay tuned for pictures of our decorations and lights in the front yard! (When The Awesome One puts them up after the lawns are mowed on Tuesday).
