Our Happy Little Vegemites

I know I haven't posted much lately because of my back so here are a couple more videos of the Little Miss just being herself and some photos as well. She's very very close to walking. She can stand up by herself with no problems, even when there isn't anything to hang on to, although she's a bit wobbly in that case. She has almost done it a couple of times, you can see her thinking about it but she always changes her mind at the last minute and sits back down. She frustratingly won't say Dad. She has said it a few times, but never when the Awesome One is actually around so I don't think he believes me, haha! She does say Mum and 'sings' along to music a lot. She loves to dance, and starts bouncing her little butt around when she hears any music at all. Well.....it's been an eventful couple of weeks and not really in a good way either.  It all started like an any other day; I got up when Penelope woke up and took her straight to the change table and changed her nappy. And that's where the comparison to any other day ends. My back went into a spasm which I at first ignored, then as I lifted her up the pain was so excruciating that ignoring it was no longer an option.Turns out I actually ruptured a disc at the top of the lumbar area of my spine.  In layman's terms what has happened is this: the disc w hich cushions the two vertebrae (L1 and L2) has protruded out of it's allocated spot right at the centre of the back bit of it and is heading right for my spinal column. Then it's ruptured on the top bit of that, so that the gel stuff inside it is heading upwards along my spinal column. A little note from my Dad...... We all stand on the hands of the clock face of time. At first, when we are young the hands moved slowly, then as the dramas of our lives unfolded, the hands of time seem to speed up and there never seemed to be enough time to do all of the things that living a life requires in this crazy world. Every now and then we took a moment to reflect on the things that have happened in our own little world, we watched as our children grew from babies to adulthood, and we wondered where the time had gone, and this is the place that I find myself in now. The doorway has opened to the autumn of my life. I look back through weary eyes, and I reflect on the things that were, those that I knew, and those whose lives were never fulfilled. Noooooo!!!!! It wasn't supposed to happen. Little Miss Penelope was supposed to stay a baby for as long as absolutely possible. She on the other hand, doesn't agree with this prospect and wants to get bigger as quickly as possible! She's been crawling properly for a little over two weeks now and she's a maniac about it. It's so funny how one minute they can still be figuring it all out and the next minute they're zooming off around the floor like there's no tomorrow at breakneck speed! Well, this Tuesday just gone she decided she would stand up. I was not a happy camper let me tell you! She did it a couple of times, pulling herself up on the furniture, being all wobbly and then falling down. But then she didn't do it for a couple of days so I relaxed a bit.
