It's Christmas!

So it kind of feels like forever since I've blogged! I am sitting her somewhat hungover from a few too many strawberry wines last night, and feel like it's time I updated you all on the last month or so!    The last time I was on here, I was talking about our trip to the States to visit family - well, actually I think I was talking Halloween but I know the holiday was mentioned somewhere! I feel like I could blog every day for a month and still not convey how amazing and awesome this was.  It took us 38 hours of travel time to get from here in Western Australia to Washington DC, and while we were exhausted it went far better than I had expected! There were obviously a few bouts of crankiness here and there, but overall we all handled the travel extremely well - and Little Miss P surprised and delighted us with how well she did.  We kept her amused by playing with her, walking up and down the aisles, and passing her around between siblings. She ate a...

International Travel with Five Kids!

It's now only 16 days until we fly out and begin our first international trip as a family. We've had a number of comments in the lead up to this, mostly people expressing surprise, trepidation and some disbelief that we are traveling as a family of 7. So I thought I'd try and dispel some of those 'concerns' that other people seem to have!    I will say, we are extremely organised for this trip. Mostly because I'm a little bit of a freak when it comes to needing to feel in control. I have lists to keep track of the lists of stuff I've made! Well, maybe not but almost. I have been planning this since before we booked the tickets which was all the way back in February!    First off, we did our homework when it came to the tickets. We spent literally months watching flight prices on several booking websites like Skyscanner and Expedia. We also didn't use credit for the tickets. We saved for around a year and had enough for the biggest chunk o...

Do You Believe In Past Lives?

I was doing one of those stupid quizzes on Buzzfeed earlier today - you know the ones that tell you which tv show character you are, or as in the case this morning, which character from 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'. They are so dumb, but they just suck you in! I've done heaps and I don't see that I'll stop anytime soon, haha.   I am Charlie Bucket, just as an FYI. I'm going to inherit the Chocolate Factory and die from constantly eating nothing but chocolate. Anyway I digress.....it linked to another article on their site titled  24 Small New England Towns You Must Visit .  I love New England, despite having never been there in my life. I actually did another Buzz Feed quiz a little while ago that proclaimed to tell me which town I should live in (in America), and I got Vermont! So I clicked on the link, and I was immediately transported to a host of beautiful places, the likes of which we just don't get Down Under. So it got me thinking...
