Well hasn't the last month been super hectic?! For us it has anyway, here's what's been taking all our time up: My very first solo exhibition featuring 25 pieces which are currently on display at the Rockingham Arts Centre, here in Rockingham Western Australia. We spent Thursday and Friday the 11th and 12th September setting up the gallery, and then the exhibition opened on Saturday 13th. Opening night was fantastic and a couple of works were sold. Drinks were had, food was eaten and I gave a little speech (which had me so nervous I thought I might vomit, but I didn't thankfully!). Art was talked about and all in all it was an amazing night and such a wonderful experience. Here are some photos of opening night! Plenty of raffle tickets have also been purchased during the exhibition. What raffle? I'm so glad you asked!! I am raffling one of my paintings to raise some money to help with medical expen...

A Bit of Nostalgia

Image
Miss P is sleeping the afternoon away and I'm sitting here feeling a little nostalgic. Wondering how she got so big, well figuratively speaking anyway. She's actually still very little, and she makes people smile when they see her walking around cause she's so tiny. So I thought I'd have a little bit of a ramble and do a family update with one or two photos for you. :) This morning I felt a little bit special - I had a local journalist come to the house and interview me for my upcoming exhibition. She took some photos and we talked a lot about the show and how exciting it is! She was here for a good hour and when she left I was even more excited about what's to come! She did say they (the local paper) were going to try and get a photographer out to the exhibition either on opening night, or at some point during the two weeks and maybe do a follow up post. The story was going to be in the local paper next week with a small article in their monthly what's on...

A Party For Miss P!

Image
I thought I'd post some pictures of the Little Miss on her birthday and during the little party we had for her. She had the best time, quickly getting the idea that presents meant ripping paper off boxes and getting to play with what was inside, and realising that birthday cake is delicious!!  We sang happy birthday which just made her smile, then she tried to grab the lit candle of course! She was kind of bewildered when we put the cake in front of her and she realised she could touch it and smash it! After cake and a clean up it was present time, and then time to play! All in all she had a pretty great first birthday experience. Then on the Saturday we got ready for her little party with a couple of friends. I had made the world's awesomest birthday cake (well...I decorated it, the Cheesecake Shop actually made it!), and I set up a very cute Wonderwoman cross PowerPuff Girls display. It was pretty awesome. :)  At least on...
